A strong password doesn’t stop a leak. It limits the damage. Reused, weak passwords are exactly what shows up over and over in the infostealer logs and breach dumps we monitor. A long, random, unique password means a leak on one site doesn’t hand an attacker access to five others.
Length matters more than complexity. A random 16-character password is harder to crack than an 8-character one with a symbol swapped in for a letter. Unique matters more than either: the same strong password reused across ten accounts is one leak away from being ten compromised accounts.

Should I use this for every account?
Yes, paired with a password manager. Memorizing unique random passwords for every account isn’t realistic. A password manager stores them so you don’t have to.
Is a generated password enough on its own?
No. Pair it with multi-factor authentication wherever it’s offered. A strong password slows an attacker down. MFA can stop them even if the password does leak.
A strong password protects one account. What about the rest?
Knowing when any of your accounts, or your clients’ accounts, show up in a leak is a different problem entirely. That’s what continuous monitoring is for.
